The proposal is based on a vision of economic, social and ecological sustainability. The construction system with massive timber elements produced off site provides economic rationality and is the basis for an environmentally friendly building. Generous community facilities are given prime locations and are intended to enhance the existing neighborhood and catalyzes the social community of the new housing.
The design reinterprets the traditional formal language and color scheme of the surrounding buildings that are built in a typical Gothenburg tradition called "landshövdingehus". They have a first floor built in stone, the following floors in wood topped with tilted roofs clad in metal.
