The clash between the things I like and the things I dislike is the leading theme of "My pompous fat armchair". The reclining easy chair is a piece of furniture that has become synonymous in the world with poor taste. I found the reclining easy chair a piece of furniture that I despised to look at but found very comfortable to sit in.

To be opinionated about a piece of furniture. Starting with my own prejudices and the reclining chair. The clash between the things I like and the things I dislike must be the leading theme of my degree project. Expressive furniture is the main theme. "My pompous fat armchair" has become my sounding board in order to understand my own understanding of design at a higher level.

The reclining armchair is a piece of furniture that has become synonymous in Sweden with poor taste and a symbol for materialistic prosperity and success. Many years ago I lived in the US, a country that has a schizophrenic furniture culture. I found the reclining chair a piece of furniture that I despised to look at but found it very comfortable to sit in. it turned out that I liked it more than I thought I would from the beginning. I had come out. Out from the dark, pompous furniture closet.
