A glowing lamp on the square! The bicycle tower will not only work as storage for bicycles, but also as a beacon greeting travellers at the central train station in Gothenburg. For the base a curved glass façade is used. The technical installations lifting the bicycles to their place in the tower are covered in a plastic membrane which can be lit with white or red light indicating when the tower is fully occupied. The sloping roof provides space for solar cells. The bicycle tower at Drottningtorget is a sketch proposal designed for the City of Gothenburg.
