However eternal it may seem this is not a natural forest. Like 90 % of the forests in Sweden it is used for forestry consequently being continuously grown and chopped down in an about 60 years life cycles. By draping the fabric around the tree trunks we wanted to connect these trees to time. We wanted the installation to become a memory of earlier generations of pine trees that have stood here and a forecast of the clear cut that will soon replace these trees. Perhaps the mirrors could also absorb the light, colors and smell of this place and save it for the future, at least in a place in us?
