Revitalization of a centrally located site in Gothenburg, Sweden. We got the commission to develop ideas for the empty site remaining after the old bridge over Göta Älv has been demolished. Our proposal aims to link the fragmented urban fabric that is the present state of the site today and we propose a new green urban axis that connects the waterfront with the city center. The structure departs from its urban context and existing sightlines and scales. The buildings varies in volume and material, relating to existing high-rise buildings, the harbor landscape and aims to introduce a human scale in the area. The main ideas of our proposal has been implemented in the municipality’s area plan for the new area.
