In August we hired a car and drove north. With us we had 100 reflectors of standard type bought in a grocery store. We had had a growing interest for the Norwegian landscape since some years. The bright summer nights, the tide, the fjords and the mountains. Here time and place interact becoming an ever-changing whole. Our goal was to study and elucidate this shifting landscape. The first day we climbed a mountain, carrying reflectors, cameras and other equipment. We spent the night on the mountaintop arranging the reflectors. We placed them in rigid lines contrasting with the natural rock. The sculpture continuously changed with time. We were marveled by the beauty of the spot and the way we could amplify it. The next two days we spent by the sea. Here both light and water changed by the hour. The tide is strong in Norway shifting the sea level up to 2 meters every day. A line of reflectors marked the coast, sometimes the reflectors lay on the ground, later they floated in the water. We made a ring further out in the sea untouched by the tide. It had an ephemeral glow that fascinated us. Today none of this is left, we brought all the reflectors home, keeping just our memories and photos.
